Who we are and how we work
Pest Control Youngstown OH is a locally owned pest control company serving Youngstown and nearby Mahoning County communities. We do the work ourselves. Treatments are applied by Ohio-licensed pesticide applicators following the product label.
Our office is at 20 W Federal St, Suite 302, in downtown Youngstown. From there we cover all six city areas we list, from the North Side to the South Side, plus Boardman, Austintown, Poland and Struthers.
Our customers include homeowners, renters, landlords, home buyers who need a termite inspection, and businesses like restaurants, offices and warehouses. The pests change with the season, from termite swarmers in spring to mice in fall, but the method stays the same.
We keep this page simple on purpose. You will not find star ratings or big claims here. You will find how a job works and what to check before you hire anyone, including us.

What happens on a typical job
Whether it is mice, ants or a termite inspection, every job moves through the same 4 stages.
Inspect
We look where the pest lives, eats and gets in. That means basements, crawlspaces, kitchens, attics and the outside walls.
Identify
We confirm the species and explain what we found, with photos when that helps. Then you get a plan and a quote before work begins.
Treat
We use baits, traps or targeted products only where needed. We tell you how long to keep kids and pets away from treated areas.
Prevent
We seal entry points and list the fixes that matter, like leaks or gaps, then check back to confirm the problem is gone.

What to check before you hire any pest control company
Ohio State University Extension publishes a guide on choosing a pest management company. These are the points we think matter most, and they apply to us too.
- An Ohio pesticide license. The Ohio Department of Agriculture licenses anyone who applies pesticides for hire. Look up the applicator or the business on ODA's free online search.
- Label use. The EPA says it is a violation of federal law to use a pesticide in a way that does not match its label. Ask what product will be used and where.
- An IPM approach. Integrated Pest Management means inspection, identification, sealing and sanitation first, with treatment only where needed.
- A clear written plan. Know what will be treated, how many visits, and who to call if pests come back.
- Proof of insurance. OSU Extension suggests asking for proof of liability and workers' compensation coverage.
- No scare tactics. OSU Extension warns against companies that use alarm tactics, and notes that government agencies and universities do not endorse companies.

The values behind every visit
Find the cause. A spray that kills what you see does not stop what is coming in. We look for the gap, the leak or the food source behind the problem, and we show it to you.
Use less, where it counts. We pick baits, traps and sealing first when they will work. When a product is the right tool, a licensed applicator applies it by the label, in the places the pest lives.
Be straight with you. We tell you what we found, what we suggest and what it will cost before we start. If you do not need a recurring plan, we will say so.
Respect your home. A 2020 housing study for the city found that most Youngstown housing was built before World War II. Older basements, crawlspaces and trim need careful work, and we explain any prep, like clearing space under a sink, before we arrive.
