FAQ

Choosing the right pest service: common questions

What if I do not know what pest I have?

That is normal. Call and describe what you see, or send a photo. The inspection confirms the species, and we match the service to it before any treatment.

Do I need a recurring plan or a one-time visit?

A single problem, like one wasp nest, often needs one visit. Pests that return each season, such as mice in fall or ants in spring, usually do better with scheduled visits. We suggest a plan after the inspection.

What is the difference between termite inspection and termite treatment?

An inspection looks for termites, damage and conditions that attract them, and can include a WDI report for a home sale. Treatment is the work that eliminates an active colony. Many jobs start with an inspection and only move to treatment if termites are found. In Ohio, WDI inspections for real estate deals require a commercial pesticide applicator license.

Do you remove honey bees?

Ohio State University Extension notes that honey bees are valuable pollinators and suggests calling a beekeeper for accessible nests, so we try to have swarms collected by a local beekeeper when possible. Yellowjackets, hornets and paper wasps are handled through our bee and wasp removal service. If someone shows signs of a severe allergic reaction to a sting, call 911.
